Father's Day 2018

Good morning and happy father’s day to all the fathers and to-be fathers out there. Today is a wonderful day. A day to honor the father’s we have in our lives. More importantly a day to honor our Father in heaven that has blessed us with the lives that we have.

I am still very blessed to have my dad around. It was nearly seven years ago that I learned that he had prostate cancer. Thank the Lord that he is still here on Earth to help me learn many things. I may not say this enough but because of you I am the man I am today. You were the one to get me my first train set. I still remember all the times you took me into your train room to let me watch your trains, and eventually we set my set up next to yours. It was the way you handled the family budget that has helped me plan and stick to a budget of my own and being able to make sure my bills are paid each month and have food on the table. Also, it is the things you have taught me to be a man over the years that will allow me to be a great father myself one day and soon. I am very thankful I grew up with you as my dad. 

This Father’s Day is different for me. I am a father to be. Just last Monday my wife went to the doctor to confirm what we have been suspecting, she is pregnant. Already I have started to make changes to my lifestyle. Taking it a little safer while ate work, especially while driving, trying to keep the stress down in my life, reworking our budget to plan for the arrival of this little one, and finally, making sure my health is in order so that I can be around for this child as long as possible.

Today is a great and memorable Father’s day. Take time to thank God for always being good good Father for us and don't forget to tell your dad and tell him how thankful you are to have him in your life.
