The Thanksgiving holiday has passed here in the United States. Many of us had our feasts. I am stuffed on turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pies, and much more. With Thanksgiving now past it is time to start getting ready for the Christmas holiday. My mother set up the tree just hours after Thanksgiving dinner was finished and put away. Today is the biggest shopping day of the entire year. Everyone starts getting their decorations up and their shopping done. It is the most wonderful time of the year, full of joy.
What is my Christmas wish? I wish to go to the Philippines. God has placed a calling on my life to be a missionary in the Philippines. The Song: Send Me out by Fee, best resembles how I feel. The chorus reads: I wanna be your hands and feet, I wanna be your voice every time I speak, I wanna run to the ones in need, in the name of Jesus. I wanna give my life away, all for your kingdoms sake. Shine a light in the darkest place, in the name of Jesus. This is what I want to do in the Philippines. Do the things Jesus would do. For two years I get to be a part of an awesome ministry called Wipe Every Tear. I pray that god will use me as He needs me to while I am there and that people’s lives will be impacted. Today is a special day for me. It was one year ago today that I arrived in the Philippines for the first time. I already had a draw to that country but I never knew how much I would love the country after I spent time there. The 6 weeks I got to spend there was such a blessing.
I can remember so much of my time there. The drive from the Airport to our ministry host in Manila. Being left behind by my squad in Manila. The flight from Manila to CDO and then the drive to Malaybalay was beautiful. Helping teach at a school in Malaybalay and the students and staff there. And then all the dental work I had done once I got back to Manila. There was so much that happened during the time there. By the end of the 6 weeks, the Philippines had captured my heart. I didn't want to leave but I knew God had still more for me in the other countries left on the route. Now that I am home I am planning on getting to the Philippines for at least 2 years. I love that country so much and I can't wait to see what God does in my life and in the lives of others while I am in the Philippines. |
