Already one week into the new year. Many of us were greeted to the new year by a snow storm followed by some very cold air. I was outside the other day and my nose froze within seconds. But, I am not here to talk about the weather. I am here to talk about starting new things, changing things in our lives. So many of us make these resolutions for the new year. I decided to stick with something simple for this year. This way I have a good chance to succeed at it. This next year there are two things I want to see. I want to read more books and want to live a more healthy/active lifestyle. Simple enough. I think I only read 2-3 books last year. I have plenty to choose from both on my shelf and on my e-readers. Living more healthy/active is a challenge. I mean I got to shovel all this snow we just got, but I need to make sure I am drinking plenty of water and not be eating all this junk food as well as when it gets warmer to go on those nice long walks that I like so very much.
The thing is we do not need the new year to set goals. We can get goals for a season, a month, a week, or even a day. Each time we wake up it is a brand new day. Tomorrow is not guaranteed to happen. What can you do today to change the world around you, or even bring a smile to someone's face. Each day brings something new, each day we can do something little that by the end of a year can make a large difference. Let us not take a day for granted. Instead, be blessed to have this day you are living and do what you can to help your families or others. And if yesterday was a bad day thats okay, today is something new. 2014 can be a very meaningful year if you want it to be. Lets hit the floor running every morning. God is with us each day. Are you ready?
