If you would like to take a look at Matthew 6:25-34. This may help you better understand where I am coming from in this post. This passage come up twice this past week, once at a youth group and another time at a church service. When you read this passage it is talking about how we do not need to worry, that God is going to take care of us. If God takes care of the flowers and the birds, how much more will He take care of us, we who are made in His image? I am a logical person however, I have a active imagination, I can dream big, I guess that makes me a dreamer. These to qualities are great but at times can be at odds with each other. The dreamer side of me can see all the things that are possible especially with God at my side. It sees no limits on what can happen. The logical side looks at it and tries to analyze it, study it, make sense of it. What does it take to make it all happen? What resources do I need and where are they going to come from?
When it comes to going to the Philippines I am no different. I dream big, I can see all what God is going to do. I can imagine the people that will come to know Him by His love. I can see the lives being changed. Yet, the questions of how are present or where are the resources going to come from? When I heard this passage it was a quick reminder of what to do. at the end of the passage there is a verse that many of us know. Verse 33 says, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” It is okay to dream and to set goals. Many dreams do come from God. Dreaming about the Philippines and setting a goal of $1,000 in support by February 1st is great. Goals and dreams help us know what to pray for. Take your dreams and your goals and place them into the hands of God for He knows what is best for us and He will provide for us. Then, just run after God, run towards the heart of God and press into who He is. There is no place I’d rather be than in the love of God. I want more, more of God’s love, grace, mercy, blessings, and presence. I don’t want a little bit, Open the gates of heaven and pour it out God so that I can soak it up and share with those I come into contact with, so that your Glory will be known. Amen.
