An enigma is something mysterious. It can be either a person or a thing. You may not understand it. The first time I heard this word it was used to describe me by someone else. It is a great story. So there I was in the middle of East Africa. I think we were either in Uganda or Rwanda at the time. My team leader for the mission trip decided to talk to me one day. He looked at me and told me that I was an enigma. The reason behind that was funny. He said that when he thinks he had me figured out, something new happens and it throws his entire thinking off. During our 3 months in Africa, he could not figure me out.
This is something that I have learned to embrace. One, as I learn more about who I am in Christ and and learn more about who He is, there are changes that happen in my life. Things happen daily as spend time with my Savior. Also, for those that spend time with me, they are always learning something and sometimes what they see in me helps their lives as well. The one thing that has been constant is that fact that I have a high level of joy. It is rare to find me in a bad mood now a days. I like to look at each day as a blessing and the challenges that come my way as a growing experience. I do carry around a lot of joy and may seem bubbly at times. I am full of care and compassion for other people. I like to think this is Christ living through me. I see it as an opportunity to spread joy to other people that may be going through a hard time. I am an unique person and I am okay with that. I may live under a rock when it comes to pop culture like movies and music. I may not be like everyone else. That is okay. God created me this way for a specific purpose. Each and everyone of us are different. Otherwise, we would all think, act, and do the same thing and lets face it, this would be a boring place if that was so. Some of the things we use today like computers, cars and planes would not be here if we were all the same. Embrace your own differences, it is what makes you, you.
