Spring Is Here

Today marks the first day of spring. Many of us have been waiting for this day to arrive for a while. Being in Michigan, I have seen a lot of snow this winter. i can not remember ever shoveling this much snow in one year, it was insane. Over the last few days it has started to melt, we have gone from two feet of snow to green grass in some areas in a matter of days. The fact that spring has started means that longer, warmer days are just around the corner. 

With the warmer weather brings other things. It brings the green back into the grass, which has been dormant all winter long. The leaves come back to the trees and the flowers begin to bloom. It is like life for these things is brand new and it is time to burst forth.

The great thing is that we get this chance everyday. Every morning we wake up we have a choice. To see the world the world sees it or to step under the covering of God and live in His rest and joy. I do not know about you but, I like the covering of God. It does not matter what the day may throw at me, I still have a smile on my face, joy in my heart, and a worship song playing in my head because I know that I have an all powerful God on my side. Now, that does not mean I will not have a bad day. They come. But, I can wake up in the morning the next day knowing that God is still in control and will give me the strength to get through the day.

I want to encourage you that tomorrow morning when you wake up to thank God for allowing you to be here another day. Be blessed and know that God still has a purpose and a plan for your life. Know that God is with you in all that happens in your day and lean into Him to find rest in the hardest times. God loves each and everyone of us so much. If God provides for the needs of the flowers, how much more does He love you and I?
