Winter is about half way over now, and for many of us we can not wait for spring to arrive and have the chance to open the windows and sit outdoors in the sun. I know I am one of those people. I am from Michigan and right now there is a lot of snow on the ground and just when you finally finish cleaning up from the last snow fall, more arrives. On top of all the snow is the very cold temperatures. Yes, I wish that the snow would stop coming and melt now, but I do understand the benefit of it all being here. I would understand if you are looking at me funny right now. But the weather we have had in Michigan is very helpful. The cold air has allowed the lakes to freeze faster than usual which means less evaporation of the water. The consistent amount of snow on the ground is helpful also. Not only will it melt in the spring and run off into the rivers and lakes helping with water levels but, it also brings much needed nutrients into the soil to help with the growth of crops and flowers. Not only this but it will keep the mosquito population at a weaker state when the warm weather arrives. That is a plus. There is so much happening with this winter that we do not see with our eyes at this time.
Now, if you are still reading, God allows us to go through a winter season as well in our personal and spiritual life. It is a time when things go dormant. However, this is not a time to be discouraged because nothing is happening. It simply means that below the surface, God is doing work in you and around you. Things are still changing in your life, and you will see it once winter has passed and spring arrives in your walk with God. Enjoy the season you are in with God right now. Each season has a purpose and brings much needed growth to our walk with our Creator.
